MARMIA’s collections include home movies, mixtapes, local news, found VHS-tapes, and more unique audiovisual materials documenting the people, places, arts, and culture of the Mid-Atlantic region.

Our largest acquisition is the WJZ-TV Collection, which holds thousands of hours of content created by Baltimore television station WJZ-TV ranging in date from the 1950s through 2000. Please search or browse descriptions of our collections here and then you can search and view our digitized collections here. Please remix and reuse our collections for noncommercial purposes–you can download MP4s here. Just please make sure to give us credit! Contact avtech@marmia.org if you would like to use our footage for commercial purposes.

We also have an incomplete run of the Journal of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers that is available for researchers to view onsite at the Baltimore City Archives. There are no other libraries or archives in Baltimore City that hold these amazing resources on moving image technology.
