Thanks to funding from the Mellon Foundation, MARMIA is offering two FREE events in July as part of our project Interface: Expanding Personal and Community Archiving in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic.
Event # 1: July 19, 2024
The first is a Community Archiving Workshop held at the Baltimore City Archives!

Where: Baltimore City Archives (2615 Mathews St Baltimore, MD 21218)
When: Friday, July 19th 10AM – 3PM (BYOLunch)
What: A free workshop where attendees will be trained by MARMIA Audiovisual Archivists on identification, assessment, and processing of audiovisual archival materials and then spend the majority of the day putting that knowledge to practice by inventorying collections from the Baltimore City Archives
Who: open to all interested in preserving history: you will need to provide contact information, identification, and store your belongings at check-in

Event # 2: July 20, 2024
The second is a celebration of skate videos and culture in DC! Join MARMIA Archivists at DC Public Library to learn more about preserving your skate videos. No need to RSVP, just drop in.
